Basketballghana.com can confirm Kings University College has been eliminated from the special edition of the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Kings University lost 28-30 to University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Kings second game in the ongoing tournament at the Tema Community 4 Court.

The win is UPSA’s first in the tournament and puts the team in a strong position to qualify as group winners. Takoradi Technical University also has a win over Kings University. The game was tied at 22 at the end of the third quarter.

Robert Orhin and Michael Arthur-Tay were major threats on offense with Thomas Cofie using his big frame to disrupt UPSA defensively.

Owusu MacDonald Zane, Ghafaar Aryeteey scored crucial points late on for the close win which eliminates Kings from progressing from Group A.

This is Kings University’s second appearance and second elimination from Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament. Two teams progress from each group.

Radford University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) play next; a win ensures Radford tops Group B.
