2020 UPAC Title winning Coach Albert Ato Sam has thanked sponsors of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition for their support and further called on other corporate bodies to get on board and support basketball in Ghana.

He made this call in an interview with Basketballghana.com after leading Radford University College to clinch its first ever Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship thanks to a 58-46 win over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the final game.

Radford emerged winners of the two day competition that was played out at the Tema Community 4 Court; to win the title, Radford topped title favourites Takoradi Technical University and KNUST.

In his closing statement in the interview, Coach Sam thanked CAL Bank, MTN and Decathlon for sponsoring the competition and made the call for other bodies to lend support to the growth of basketball in the West African nation.

Last year’s UPAC was expected to conclude in April but the onset of the corona virus pandemic forced organizers to indefinitely suspend the tournament.
