BSA v Ghana Army (Black) in Division II matchup

Ghana Army survived a late scare and came through late to eke out a slim win over Basketball School Academy (BSA) with a clutch three pointer.

BSA lost 46-47 to Army in a tough, physical but exciting game played earlier today at the Prisons Court in Cantonments in Accra with the game winning shot coming from three point range.

Guard Mawuli Dorgbetor hit the late three pointer to put his side ahead with seven seconds left in the game. BSA had a late chance to win it but a near half court shot missed the mark sparking big celebrations from the Army fans.

Both teams missed key shots down the stretch especially from the free throw line as the two sides run into deep foul trouble. In the last of three games played, DUNK lost 39-62 to Tudu Galaxy.

BSA jumped out with an early 6-0 lead with Kojo Afam and Maina Karim scoring. Army built up slowly into the game and got four straight points from Tetteh Alexander, a long jumper from Jamani Salifu and a shot from Kallai Ellemawusi. The quarter ended tied at 8.

Mawin Cande sneaked into the post on a backdoor cut to score and Godwin Kploanyi converted 1 of 2 free throws to give BSA an 11-8 lead. Akpalu Isaac scored for Army but missed his free throw to complete a three point play.

Jamani and Dennis Antwi scored to tie the game at 14 with 6:03 minutes remaining. Both teams missed easy looks at the basket in a contest played at frenetic pace. BSA held on to lead 22-19 at the end of the first half.

Maina Karim and Akpalu score three pointers for their teams to open the third quarter. Ellemawusi tied the game at 27 with a three pointer of his own but Samuel Atta Badu stole the ball and BSA scored from the ensuing possession.

Maina and Kploanyi scored layups to put BSA up 33-29 with 3:59 seconds left in the quarter and the quarter ended with BSA leading 37-35. Jamani produced the highlight play of the quarter by blocking a layup from Kploanyi.

However diminutive Guard Kploanyi stretched BSA’s lead to five points by completing a three point play. Jamani tied the game at 41 with 6:04 left to end the game and completed a three point play to give Army a 44-41 lead with 3:39 minutes left.

Prosper Adzinu tied the contest with a three pointer with 2:52 minutes to play. Dorgbetor scored a three pointer to give Army a 47-46 win as both teams missed free throws late in the game.
