Basketballghana.com can report Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club has emerged winner of the Tema Preseason Basketball Tournament after winning all three games.
The competition put together by the Tema Basketball League (TBL) ended this past weekend with Coldstore clinching the title at the Team Community 4 Court.
Nungua emerged ahead of the pack that had strong rival Spintex Knights, Tema Rockets and Tema Wolves in competition. In a highlight matchup in the tourney, Coldstore beat Knights 80-73 in the only loss of the competition for Knights.
This is the latest title won by Nungua that proves the team is the most dominant side in the Tema League; aside bagging three TBL titles, Coldstore has won the BetWay Community Championship.
The just ended competition is dress rehearsal for the main league competition that is yet to have a start date several months after the 2019 season concluded.
Due to the onset of the COVID pandemic, the 2020 season was cancelled but the introduction of COVID vaccines means the 2021 season could be salvaged . Eight teams have been registered to compete in the upcoming league.
