Basketballghana.com can confirm the 2022 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I and Women’s Division Regular Season is to be played out in an all play all format.

This was communicated by ABL Chairman Ayitey Bulley at the Press Launch of the new ABL Season at the De’lish Restaurant recently.

In the 2021 season, games in the respective divisions had to be played out with an adopted group format where competing teams (then 10 in each division) were grouped to ensure the league could conclude in time despite a late start. Implementing the league’s COVID 19 Vaccination program caused further delay to the league campaign’s start.

“Because of COVID, it was a different format that was played in 2021 but in 2022 we are going the full hog; we are playing the full league as it was meant to be” Chairman Bulley said.

Nine teams will compete in the respective above mentioned divisions with the new season due to commence on Tuesday, March 8. All games are scheduled to be held at the Prisons Court in Cantonments.

20 teams will compete in the Men’s Division II and the group format has been maintained in the division; teams are to be spread across three divisions with at least six in each group.
