Ghana National Fire Service Basketball Team Head Coach Raphael Ahadzi has fingered fatigue as the main reason behind his team’s loss to Tema Youth.

He alluded to this in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com in the aftermath of a 47-52 to Tema in the round of games played in the opening week of the 2022 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I Season at the Prisons Court in Cantonments. Fire held a 26-24 first half lead but trailed 37-41 heading to the final quarter; late in the fourth quarter defensive lapses allowed Tema to rack up points to seal the win.

“We don’t have enough training you can see its tired legs that led to us to lose this game… with enough training you will see changes in the next match that we are going to play” he said.

Ghana Fire Service made the playoffs in the 2021 Season but got eliminated by eventual champions Reformers of Prisons in the first round. The team has returned a big chunk of the roster that competed in last season’s campaign.
