Eff-Ess Basketball Academy Head Coach Jismet Baffoe Amissah has described his team’s win on the opening day of the 2022 Western Basketball Association (WBA) League Season as “difficult”.

He made this description in an interview with Basketballghana.com after his team recorded a 31-20 win over Lighters Basketball Club at the Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Court. All games in the league are played with a running time format. (Click highlighted text to read match report)

The game served as the first fixture in the 2022 Calendar; Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) President Ato Van-Ess and WBA Executives including Chairman William Ocran were present at the venue to officially open the season.

“You could see it was a difficult game being the first game of the tournament so the communication in the team you know we are now beginning the league and it is not easy just gelling up and winning your first game. Overall we worked hard and won the game” he said.

TTU Oilers beat Oil City Kings 47-27 in the follow up game at the same venue.
