Basketballghana.com can confirm Filou Oostende has been eliminated from the 2021-2022 FIBA Basketball Champions League.

The confirmation comes after the Belgian side’s 74-85 loss to Romania’s Cluj Napoca at the Round of 16 stage earlier this week. Ghana Center Amida Brimah started in that loss.

Brimah played a total of 20:51 minutes and produced four points, seven rebounds and a blocked shot; Oostende struggled offensively and only two players scored in double figures.

The loss put Oostende’s record after five games at four losses and a win and good for third place in the Group K standings. Napoca topped the group with nine points from recording four wins in five games.

Spain’s Unicaja Malaga qualified with a second place finish; the team tallied seven points from winning two games in five outings. Ukraine’s Prometey withdrew from the competition due to an invasion from Russia.

In eight games in the tournament, Brimah averaged 8.9 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 21.9 minutes of play. Oostende lost the Belgian Cup Final earlier this month to Limburg United.
