Basketballghana.com can confirm Ghanaian basketball phenom Jahlil Owusu popularly known as Jah Swish is in Ghana and made a cameo appearance for Spintex Knights in the Tema Community Basketball League. (Click highlighted text to watch highlights)
The Tema League is an amateur league that operates in Ghana’s port city Tema; the league is in its fifth season but has had to halt the league in two straight years due to the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Jah Swish, a Nike Youth Ambassador, was born in the United States of America to a Ghanaian father and regularly visits the West African nation to engaging in youth basketball development programs and philanthropic acts such as donating basketball sneakers to fellow young players in the country.
Owusu has close ties to Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving who is in his second season with the Nets after leaving Boston Celtics. He was drafted 1st overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by Cleveland Cavaliers and has worked with Owusu on a Nike commercial.
Jah Swish is has big aspirations to make it the NBA.
