Braves (white) v Tudu Magic in 2022 ABL mathcup

Bar an opening day loss to defending champions Reformers of Prisons, Braves of Customs have been in fine form and earlier today, the team extended it’s fine run by grabbing a win over Tudu Magic.

At the Prisons Court, Braves recorded a 69-34 win over Magic in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I.

Braves took an 8-2 lead with Baniba Dodzie grabbing a pair of two three pointers and delivering a bounce pass assist to Patrick Dzogbesi for an easy layup. Shadrack Nii Quaye scored a three pointer for Magic but Dodzie hit back with an up and under layup. Emmanuel Amanor scored one of two free throws and Lawrence Kudjoe added two points for Magic to close out the quarter trailing 11-13.

Kudjoe tied the game at 13 after 1:39 minutes played. James Pappoe drove hard to the basket to put Braves back on top. Braves went on an 14-0 run on the back off three made baskets on fast breaks. Daniel Ayana, Nii Kwatey, Pappoe and Hashim Brimah scored in this run.

Lawrence ended the run with under three minutes to play. Sapkaku Tzetzu scored a fast break layup but Braves got a three pointer to close the first half leading 30-19.

Emmanuel Amoah and Nii Quaye traded three pointers to open the third quarter. Amoah and Kwatey got points from three point range and Samuel Abbey drove hard to the basket to score a layup. Dzogbesi completed a three point play in a quarter Nii Quaye scored all of Magic’s eight points. Braves led 54-24.

Daniel Aryee drained a jumper; Lantei Blankson Mills hit a deep three pointer following a three pointer from Nii Quaye on the elbow.

Dzogbesi scored inside in the face of a double team and Mutaleeb Alhassan scored a layup to give Braves a 65-30 with 4:23 minutes remaining in the game. Aryee scored a trademark hard drive to the basket and Abbey buried another jump shot to close the game.
