Basketballghana.com gathers Rwandan side Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Basketball Club will play three friendly or exhibition games in Turkey as part of preparations ahead of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Playoffs.

This year’s playoffs run from May 21 to May 28 at the Kigali Arena in Rwanda with eight teams due to compete including defending champion Zamalek and REG.

REG flew out of Rwanda this past weekend to Turkey for a week long training camp in the European nation and reports indicate the team will compete in three exhibition games before returning to Rwanda on May 15.

The team led by former Denver Nuggets Guard Robert Pack qualified top of the Sahara Conference with four wins in five games ahead of Tunisian side US Monastir.

REG is scheduled to play against Cameroonian side FAP in the first round before setting up a semifinal with the winner of the AS Sale (Morocco)/ Petro de Luanda (Angola).

The BAL is a continental championship born out of a partnership between the NBA and FIBA Africa.
