Basketballghana.com can confirm Nungua Coldstore Basketball Club has qualified to compete in the 2022 Tema Basketball League (a Community basketball league) Finals Series.

The team booked its spot in the finals thanks to a 49-48 win over Tema Community 4 Club in Game 3 of the semifinal series involving both teams.

The series was tied 1-1 heading to this past weekend’s matchup that had Coldstore Shooting Guard Joy Ofori sink a crucial three pointer. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)

Beating 2017 League Champions Community 4 means Coldstore gets to compete in the Tema League Finals for the fourth time in the league’s history; the mark is the highest by any team.

Nungua Coldstore has won the Team League title three times prior to the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic that forced the league to halt proceedings for two seasons.

This year’s Final has Coldstore taking on Spintex Knights after the latter beat Sakumono Titans in the semifinals; the matchup is a repeat of the 2020 edition that had Coldstore clinch the title at the expense of then league debutant Knights.
