Valley View University leader Bright Otu-Masi has stated opposing teams underestimating his side spurred them on to prove a point in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

The team placed second in Zone F behind host Accra Polytechnic having won two out of three games in the preliminary qualifier. The team was however, woeful in it’s’ matchup against the host team as it got obliterated 24-59.

In an interview with Basketballghana.com, player-coach Masi who won a three-point shooting contest wasn’t too disappointed with his side’s performance; taking into account Valley View was debuting in the Championship. He said:

“They were underestimating us and we wanted to actually prove them wrong. We wanted to prove everyone wrong”.
Valley View recorded impressive back to back wins against Blue Crest College (27-24) and Zenith University College (37-31) after losing to Accra Polytechnic.

Accra Polytechnic qualified out of Zone F and will play in the quarter finals on April 14 at the University of Ghana.
