There is no “medicine” in basketball rather training hard is the key to success according to Team Manager of Magic Basketball Anthony Nartey Arjoh. The veteran administrator made the statement when Basketballghana.com visited the team’s training session at the Lebanon House in Tudu, Accra ahead of the new season’s commencement.
The 2016 season will begin on Friday May 6 at Lebanon House with Tema Youth taking on Fire in the opening game at 17:00 GMT. Navy takes on Reformers in the second game before Magic face off against Holy Family in the day’s final game.
“The performance will be on the training of the guys. There is no medicine in basketball but hard training that will make it” Arjoh said in response to his expectations ahead of the new season.
In line with his sentiments regarding proper training, he expected Braves of CEPS to repeat as league champions because “they are training more seriously than all the clubs”.
Reigning champions Braves will start the defense of their title in the second week when the team plays Teshie Rangers. The new season will have the likes of DC Dynamics make its’ debut after gaining promotion from the second tier league-Division II.
