Burly Center Charles Annan has been back, front and center of Accra Basketball League (ABL) outfit Adenta Leopards charge to top Men’s Division II standings. Adenta Leopards is unbeaten in the 2016 season beating the likes of Junior Reformers of Prisons and Galaxy in the second tier.
Annan, who recently was declared the best basketball player at Ghana Technology University College (GTUC-Accra), has played an instrumental role in Leopards surge to the top. In the opening game against Reformers Juniors, he got Adenta rolling with a slew of great post moves to give Leopards a 46-33 lead after the third quarter.
However, Annan was in foul trouble forcing him to play minimal minutes in the remaining quarters where his team succumbed to Reformers Ollenu Ashietey’s shooting exploits to force overtime.
He eventually checked out of the game after fouling out but Leopards held on for a 68-65 win.
He was more instrumental in Adenta’s utter demolition of Tema Youth in the second game by the beating the latter 43-28. Annan exploited undersized GTUC teammate Simon Aphour in the paint and proved vital to Leopard’s win over Galaxy.
The front court behemoth has made good on his promise to work harder on his game to be a better player.
