Men’s Division II and Women’s Division of the Accra Basketball League (ABL) have been given the green light to register new players for remaining games in the league by the league board. The season’s second round of games is set to commence in a few days with respective league leaders Adenta Leopards and Braves of Customs remaining unbeaten.

As such, teams who wish to register new players for the second round can do so from Monday July 4 to Wednesday July 6 at Lebanon House in Tudu. The need to register new players is necessary for teams to replenish their roster and replace long term injured players off the roster.

Division II games which were scheduled to take place over the past weekend had to postponed to accommodate the registration process. However, teams in the men’s division I will not benefit from the mid season registration which harms teams like Fire Service who will be on the lookout for a new Small Forward as suspended Forward Farahat Tamimu is likely to be served a lenghty ban.

Adenta Leopards lead the way in the men’s game lower division by winning all four games and look a lock for promotion to Division I. Braves’ female team on the other hand, is well on its’ way to successfully defending its title.
