Reformers of Prisons and Tudu Magic got back in action after lengthy spells on the sideline with impressive wins over Navy and Holy Family respectively in the Accra Basketball League Men’s Division I.

Reformers piped Navy 66-65 and Magic cruised to a 65-39 win over Family as Tema Youth maintained tops spot in the standings with 70-63 win over Fire Service.

After 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards nominee David Asingar converted a jump shot, Reformers faced a six point deficit midway through the fourth quarter. Mohammed Yakubu and Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw scored three point shots respectively before Nii Ayi Mensah made the lead safe by converting two free throws with 35 seconds left.

Lawrence Amable’s three point shot came too late as Reformers maintained possession to clinch the win.

Division leaders Tema Youth won in more ways than one as its 65-39 triumph was accentuated by Center Sam Buodom’s win in the one on one battle with Fire Center Joseph Boye.

Tema’s active hands on defense ensured the side scored most points on fast breaks on the back of steals.

However, Fire Shooting Guards Daniel Amartey and Daniel Laryea converted two three points each to reduce the deficit one (56-57) but Tema grabbed the win by converting from the charity stripe

The final game of the day turned out to be an Eric Quaye shooting clinic as the Tudu Magic man blitzed bottom side Holy Family with five three pointers to lead Magic to an easy second half and subsequent win.
