Three teams in the Tema Community Basketball League debuted in new kits as the regular season ended for the maiden edition of the league at the Community 4 Basketball Court. Communities 2, 4 and 5 played for the first time in their new strips in the league’s final round of games.

Earlier in the week, Member of Parliament for Tema Central Kofi Brako donated the set of jerseys to league organizer Fred Yeboah as a measure of his support to the iniative.

The New Patriotic Party Candidate has made similar donations to stakeholders in other sports disciplines and is in line to further support the league as it moves to the post season.

On the day, Community 12 beat Community 5 43-26 in the opening game before home side Community outlasted Community 2 to win 29-25. Despite the win, Ashaiman Lions and Nungua Coldstore have qualified to the playoffs in Group B with Community 12 joining Flashlights of Tema New Town in Group A.

However, all league teams, seven in all, will be joined by Ghana Police Male Team to compete in a special two day tournament prior to the start of the post season.
