gsp-3Barracks Scorpions will maintain its position atop the GSP Basketball League standings heading into Week Four of the Sunyani-based basketball tournament following the team’s 38-34 win over Sunyani Polytechnic.

The Scorpions inflicted the painful loss on the competitive Polytechnic side who played the game before its passionate home crowd. However, Scorpions did just enough to win the tie and sit on top of the league for the second week running.

Defending champions Suncity Braves fall in second place with five points despite winning all three games played. Braves earned just a point for its default win over University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in the opening round.

The side utterly destroyed then unbeaten Catholic University College, Ghana (CUCG) Saints 41-25 in the previous round.

LIR Royals sit at the base of the standing having lost all three games played thus far in the season including 17-27 loss to West Siders. One of the top performers from last season is struggling this season having picked up just a win.
