Opoku Ware School’s 27-25 win over Mfantsipim School in the just ended tenth anniversary edition of the Sprite Ball Championship had a touch of the supernatural according to Team Coach Alexander Obeng Takyi.

The young astute trainer etched himself into the history books after leading the side to become the first Ashanti Region side in the boys division to win the coveted Championship but revealed something odd during an interview with Host Yaw Sakyi Afari on “Courtside” on Ghana channel Viasat 1.

“He (Emmanuel Opare) told me that he had a dream…the day he entered Opoku Ware that we were in the final and we were given the white jersey and we had won the trophy” he said.

He however yanked himself back into reality by stating. “I believe in my hard work and our hard work and we won it”.

In the final, Opoku Ware wore the white jersey as Mfantsipim wore the green jersey in a game the former dominated the first half leading to a 19-9 lead.

Mfantsipim recovered from the limp first half performance to lead the game before Harris Amuzu sealed the win for his side with a three point play.
