University of Ghana (UG) Guard Mawukor Kwami has stated his side’s triumph at the just ended 7th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition was a result of hard work.

The fourth year player was key in leading the Legon side to beat host University of Cape-Coast (UCC) 75-56 particularly in the second quarter where consecutive three point shots gave UG a massive 40-19 lead heading to the second half.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com after the win, he said, “We feel very great because we actually worked hard to get over here. It’s just team work, our belief in ourselves and our belief in the die attitude of every single player on the team”.

“Sort of sort of but I am more focused on the win am just glad we won this game. I was just doing my part for the team” he said when asked whether his outstanding performance would lead him to rank it as his best in the competition.

UG won all four games in the competition beating the likes of University of Development Studies (UDS) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on its way to win gold.

UDS beat KNUST 49-46 to win bronze.
