Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games President Dr. Joseph Kwesi Ogah has described the just ended 7th edition of the Mini GUSA Games as fantastic and commended all stakeholders for their immense contribution to the success of the multi sport event.

He reserved special praise for University of Cape-Coast for putting up a brand new gymnasium to host the basketball competition.

Speaking to Basketballghana.com after seeing University of Ghana (UG) demolish UCC 75-56 at the latter’s ultra modern edifice, the association head hailed the entire event as a success.

“Fantastic basically that is the word I will use…almost all the disciplines the standards were very high.”

He further stated his nonchalant reaction after UG beat the host team saying:

“We saw the earlier matches, the eliminations and semifinals and we saw the standards of UG and I think most people expected UG to win because they had the finest team”.

UG won all four games in the competition as University of Development Studies (UDS) won the third place matchup by beating Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Seven teams representing some of Ghana’s public universities participated in the competition.
