UCC (red) have qualified to the quarter finals.
Cape-Coast Technical University (CCTU) has matched Koforidua Technical University’s (KTU) woeful record after Zone C games were concluded in the ongoing UPAC Basketball Championship.

CCTU failed to win any of three games played at the University of Cape-Coast (UCC) with the host team doing the opposite and topping the zone to seal a quarter final spot.

CCTU lost the opening game to Takoradi Technical University (TTU) 32-50 before going on to lose 39-44 to University of Education-Winneba (UEW) and 34-49 to UCC to crash out of the Championship winless.

The side’s woeful performance matched KTU’s winless output in Zone B games played a week earlier; debutants All Nations University College qualified from Zone B.

Deepening the woes of CCTU is the ignominy of recording winless runs in consecutive editions of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

UEW placed second in the zone with two wins and a loss and last year’s winners TTU finished third after a solitary win.

This year’s UPAC Championship is partnership with EcoBank and telecommunications firm MTN.
