2016 Accra Basketball League finalist Braves of Customs and Tema Youth are set to do battle in a rematch of last year’s league final game that had Braves beat Youth 67-52.

Both teams clash on Wednesday, March 15 at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in the second week of the 2017 ABL season.

Defending champions Braves are likely to parade virtually the same roster that clinched 2016’s title for the multiple league winners including Shooting Guard Baniba Dodzie and Ghana’s reigning Most Valuable Player Award winner Suleman Abubakar.

Tema on the other hand, buffed its roster in the offseason by recruiting the likes of Joseph Boye and Kingsley Quist from Fire Service. The acquisitions deepen Tema’s roster that has McMartey Lawer and Kwame Boamah Djan.

Both teams boast tw0 of Ghana’s top technical brains in Braves Lawal Brimah and Emmanuel Quaye of Tema.

The game headlines the second week of games which has debutant Adenta Leopards play Ghana Navy. Tudu Magic opened the season with a 59-46 win over DC Dynamics.

The opening rounds of the league will observe a minute silence for departed League Administrator Benjamin Baafi who passed away on March 1.
