After failing to secure places in the quarter finals of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship, Sunyani Technical University (STU) and Catholic University College, Ghana (UCUG) have rebounded perfectly in the GSP Basketball League.

STU beat LIR 20-16 while CUCG Saints beat West Siders 34-32 for both sides to claim narrow wins just a day after failing to qualify from Zone G of the UPAC Basketball Championship.

However, one side that features in both competitions, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), couldn’t play as the tie involving the side against Barracks Scorpions was postponed.

UENR beat STU 34-26 battered CUCG 60-11 to top the Zone and qualify to the latter stage o f the competition.
The qualifiers were played at the Kumasi Technical University (KTU) where Zone G games also took place.

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has qualified from the zone ahead of KTU and Ghana Technology University College (GTUC-Kumasi).
