All Nations (yellow) grabbed the close win.
Record winners of the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship Accra Technical University (ATU) has won its first game of the 2017 quarterfinals with a 41-29 win over University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).

ATU coasted through the opening minutes of the game with a flurry of three point shots coming from Gabriel Numarworse as UENR wilted under the defensive pressure of the two time UPAC winners.

Abdul Mutalib Alhassan converted a couple of fastbreak layups but guilty of missing a wide open layup where he looked to caught in between slamming the ball or going for the unspectacular.

Zone F winners UENR got itself back in the game by stepping up play in the third quarter however, that proved not enough as ATU rounded up the win.

Debutant All Nations University College’s surprising winning run in the 2017 UPAC Championship continues as the Koforidua side beat University of Development Studies (UDS-Tamale) 29-27.

All Nations surprised all by qualifying ahead of Valley View in the preliminary games and bucked that trend with a good victory in the all debutant matchup.
