University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) still leads the Global Sporting Platform (GSP) Basketball League 2017-2018 season and would be hoping to translate the same kind of form to the upcoming GUSA Games.

The Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games is slated to commence on January 4, 2018 at the University of Development Studies-Tamale.

UENR has been in good form this year as the Sunyani-based institution’s male team placed fourth at the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Championship in April.

Later in the year, UENR won the 2016-2017 GSP League after clinching the title with a win over close rival Suncity Braves.

In the ongoing season, the team is yet to suffer a loss in four games played this season and clinched another win over Braves courtesy a 41-29 result.

By possessing a flawless record, UENR lies top of the eight team standings with maximum points and is on course to retain its title.

University of Ghana won the last edition of the GUSA Games held in 2016 at the University of Education, Winneba.
