A must win game for Mali and Uganda is the standout tie in today’s round of qualifiers for the FIBA 2019 World Cup set to be staged in China.

Uganda and Mali play in the final game of four scheduled fixtures in Group A and D combined; the game tips off at 18:00 in Bamako.

Group B host Mali lost surprisingly 70-74 to Rwanda while Uganda fell to the might of 2015 African Champions Nigeria; the Silverbacks lost 86-102 to Nigeria.

A loss for either team tonight means a place at the bottom spot in the standings with Nigeria set to play Rwanda for Group B’s top spot.

In Group D, a West African showdown between Senegal and Ivory Coast open today’s round of games at 13:00 GMT with Senegal riding on the back of a 70-65 win over Central African Republic.

Ivory Coast on the other hand, lost 53-66 to Mozambique. The latter that doubles as host made an encouraging start and faces Central African at 15:30 GMT.
