KTU (black) piped All Nations

Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has shocked defending Eastern Zonal Champions All Nations University College in the opening game of the 2018 UPAC.

KTU piped last year’s regional winners courtesy a 33-31 win to commence this year’s edition of Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball competition.

This year’s Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship has tipped off at the Adu Sarkodee Court at Pope John Senior High School and Junior Seminary.

KTU had a poor start to the game and trailed 9-14 at the end of the first quarter as All Nations experienced group settled in quicker than its opponent.

However, the game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Koforidua held All Nations to a scoreless quarter.

KTU headed to the final quarter with seven point lead before Elvis Pobi-Siaw drilled two three point shots to trim the lead to one.

With little over a minute left to play, All Nations committed a turnover and KTU scored on the ensuing possession to clinch the win.
