Bentil makes Bilbao debut; scores two points for new club

Ghana Forward Ben Bentil has played his first game for his new club RETABET Bilbao Basket since his move from French side Champgne Chalons-Reims recently.

Bilbao lost 71-74 to Gipuzkoa GBC at home to remain rooted in the lower ranks of the Spanish La Liga standings after Week 21 games.

Bentil scored two points both coming from free throws but missed both three point attempts and a solo field goal attempt in 11 minutes; he has been handed jersey number 50.

His production was far from a dream debut one as he added a rebound and assist while committing three fouls and three turnovers.

Lucio Redivo scored a game high 18 points with two other members of the starting unit scoring in double figures for Bilbao.

GBC headed to the game in 13th place while Bilbao was ranked 16th in the 18 team league; the loss is Bilbao’s fifth in succession.

Bilbao plays against third placed Valencia in the game while GBC takes on Unicaja Malaga. Bentil will be hoping for an improved outing in his second appearance in Spain.
