Dallas Mavericks Center Salaj Mejri will make his first appearance for Tunisia National Senior Male Basketball team after a three year absence next month.

His return comes after a three year absence from the team; Tunisia placed third at the 2015 African Basketball Championship (AfroBasket).

However, the Carthage Eagles went two steps ahead to clinch gold at the 2017 Championship the nation co-hosted with Senegal ahead of Nigeria.

Mejri, who recently signed a one year deal to stay with Dallas, is with Tunisia ahead of FIBA 2019 World Cup qualifying games on September 14, 15 and 16 in Morocco.

Tunisia is set to play Egypt, Morocco, Angola and Tunisia in the second round of qualifiers to determine which teams make it to China next year for the world event.

Five African teams will play at the World Cup for the first time in the expanded format for the world competition in Asia.

Nigerian city Lagos will host games in the other half of African qualifiers.
