Kumasi Girls Captain Hannah Boahemaa receives trophy.
St. Louis Senior High School Basketball Coach Benjamin Sarpong has expressed satisfaction with his influence on the team.

He made the assertion in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com in the aftermath of this year’s Ashanti Regional Qualifiers held at the Our Lady of Grace Senior High School in Mamponteng.

St. Louis placed second in the regional games following a 12-19 loss to Kumasi Girls Senior High School in the final game. Kumasi Girls successfully defended its title.

Despite the loss, St. Louis has qualified to the Sprite Ball Championship for the first time in seven years; Sprite Ball is Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball competition.

“I am happy I think I have accomplished something with the team being the first coach to take them there. For seven years, they’ve been off basketball so I think we will do something better when we get to the national level” he said.

St. Louis edged out the likes of Kumasi Wesley Girls, Tepa and Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High Schools to make it to the national competition which tips off in January, 2019.
