Braves

Adenta Leopards Basketball Club is yet to record a win over Ghana’s most dominant team Braves of Customs and in the aftermath of the latest round of games in the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I, the wait continues for Adenta.

After coming close to beating Braves twice, Leopards held a two point lead against Braves in the latest outing between the two clubs at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu in midweek.

Leopards shockingly lost 65-66 despite holding the two point lead with eight seconds left to play in the game to blow a major chance to beat Braves.

Adenta Guard Fred Asante missed a wide open layup that would have sealed the win; Braves Forward Daniel Aryee gathered the rebound and made a quick pass to veteran Point Guard Patrick Gamerli who drilled a three point shot to beat the buzzer and give Braves the win.

Both teams have qualified to the playoffs and could face off again in the postseason. It was a good day for Braves as its Female team beat arch rival Ghana Police Service 45-38 in the Women’s Division with Ghana Fire Service clinching a 62-54 win over Reformers of Prisons.
