Navy v Reformers (Green) in a CAP7 matchup.

Tema Youth Basketball Club has officially progressed to the 2019 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division I season playoffs after bagging a hard fought win over Reformers of Prisons earlier tonight at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu.

Reformers lost 78-87 to Tema in the Men’s Division I game played at high octane physical level to end the respective teams’ regular season campaigns.

The first quarter ended in a stalemate (22-22) but Tema held on to the game’s lead for the remainder of the game to clinch the important win and secure the final playoff spot in the Division.

Despite a splendid performance from Prisons Guard James Amotoe, Youth held on by getting points from three point range in crucial moments from Joy Ofori and Brian Kwami to end the season in fourth place.

Reformers quest to end its campaign on a two game winning streak was smothered but its Female team secured that mark by clinching a 40-31 win over Ghana Navy in the Women’s Division.

A 7-0 run past the midway point in the final quarter was the turning point in the game to seal the nine point win for Reformers. Prisons have two wins in its last two appearances in the league.
