St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School has clinched its place in the 2019 Accra Mayor’s Cup Final thanks to an 18-5 win over Sacred Heart Technical Institute.

The Boys Division match up in the competition had a lot of hard fouls and missed shots but Aquinas managed to score buckets and progress to the final game.

Guard Jeffrey Abrokwa was the star of the show leading Aquinas on both ends of the court with his three point shooting and ball stealing abilities.

Kwabena Takyi and Munir Hakeem combined to make matters difficult for Sacred Heart inside the painted area. Sacred Heart’s main threat Isaac Normanyo’s efforts were thwarted several times.

Aquinas progresses to the final game where they will play against the winner in the PRESEC Legon-PRESEC Osu matchup.

The Mayor’s Cup is being held in honour of Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Mayor Mohammed Adjei Sowah. The Bukom Boxing Arena is hosting the competition.
