Nungua Coldstore has regained first place in the 2019 Tema Community Basketball League Regular Season standings following the latest round of games this past weekend.
The reigning league champions secured its 16th win of the season in 17 games without playing this past Sunday at the Tema Community 4 Court.
Nungua’s opponent Tema Community 2 failed to show up for the contest as a result of its roster being short handed leading to a 20-0 win via forfeiture for Coldstore.
The team’s latest win comes on the back of a hard fought 38-31 win over 2017 League Champions Tema Community 4 who used to occupy the top spot in the league.
Coldstore has amassed 33 points and has a one point advantage over close rival Community 4; C4 however, has played a game more than the two time league champs.
The team is on pace to make the playoffs as the first seed but there is a fierce battle between several teams to make the postseason.
