Tema All Star Team Captain Kwame Boamah Djan has stated his team will bring “the heat” in the headline matchup against the Accra All Star Team at the Africa Basketball Festival.
The event takes place on Tuesday, December 24 at the Bukom Arena with representatives from both teams set to compete in the Slam Dunk Contest, Three Point Shooting Contest and Ladies Free Throw Shooting Contest.
Speaking exclusively to Basketballghana.com ahead of the crunch tie, Djan was effusive regarding his team’s chances of winning the contest.
“Tema has always been the place for growing talents we have the best talents in the sport-basketball- and even music. The Tema All Star Team is going to bring the most skilled dunks and crossovers which will dazzle the audience…Expect Tema to actually bring the heat” he said.
Djan fronts a deep talented roster that has several young players including Nii Moi Anum, Emmanuel Wolff, Kent Fosu and Abdul Rashid Kuta.
Guard Jeffrey Djimate, Djan and Forward Kofi Elias are the few veteran players on the roster. Djan is a two time Defensive Player of the Year winner in the Tema Community Basketball League with Nungua Coldstore.
