Sappor

Nungua Coldstore Shooting Guard Jonathan Walker has stated the team’s latest Tema Community Basketball League title win is dedicated to teammate Gerald Sappor.

Walker made the statement in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com in the immediate aftermath of Coldstore’s Game 2 90-83 win over Spintex Knights in the League Finals.

Coldstore clinched its second successive league title but did so without Sappor who is battling leukemia and missed the entire playoffs.

Despite missing the services of the athletic Forward, Walker pointed out his team channeled its Mamba Mentality to carry on and secure the gold medal.

“Its all about our Mamba Mentality we wanted to end the game in Game 2 we just wanted to win…This one was for Gerald so this win we dedicate this trophy to Gerald and next season we are coming harder” Walker said.

The sweet shooting Guard missed large chunks of the regular season as he battled a nagging knee injury he sustained in the 2018 campaign.
