Radford University College emerged winners of the 2020 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship held late last year.

The team clinched the title via 58-46 win over Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in the final; the title is Radford University’s first in Ghana’s biggest tertiary basketball tournament.

Wolff

Radford Guard Lawal Toyin was instrumental in the title win and was named Most Valuable Player of the Tournament largely thanks to his marksmanship late in the final against KNUST.

Winning the MVP Award at the UPAC meant players from Tema Basketball League side Nungua Coldstore have been named the best in the competition for four straight years.

Tham

Former University of Ghana (UG) Guards Joel Tham and Emmanuel Wolff won the awards in 2018 and 2019 respectively helping UG win the prestigious title in four years in a row from 2016 to 2019.

Lawal’s win has put him in the same category; Tham has moved from Coldstore and signed for rival Spintex Knights in a surprise move last year.
