Basketballghana.com can confirm Australian Basketball Coach Liz Mills has been added to Kenya’s Men’s Basketball Team Technical Staff ahead of the final round of qualifiers to the FIBA 2021 AfroBasket.

This year’s African Nations Basketball Championship is to be held in Kigali, Rwanda and the qualified are to be determined later this month.

Qualification games are to be played from February 17 to February 21 in Cameroon and Tunisia with the likes of Egypt and Nigeria in line to book a spot in the Championship.

Mills was appointed this past weekend and Ghana’s biggest hoops portal can report the veteran trainer has held her first training session with the team.

Kenya is in Group B with Senegal, Angola and Mozambique and plays its final qualification games in Monastir, Tunisia. Senegal leads the group with six points, Angola has five points while Kenya has four points with Mozambique tallying four points.

Kenya needs to finish in the top three to progress to the 30th edition of the AfroBasket. Mills was on Rwandan side Patriots Basketball prior to the announcement and was in line to feature in the Basketball Africa League before the tournament was postponed.
