International Basketball University (IBU) and Lithuania Basketball Federation (LBF) Representative in Ghana Richard Borsah has indicated Ghana will host more visits from representatives from the LBF in the coming months.

He said this earlier today at the Accra Sports Stadium during the Press Conference organized to announce the LBF’s official visit to the West African nation. Jonas Vaniauskas is representing the LBF on the visit and arrived on January 11.

The visit is to assess the state of basketball in Ghana and provide mechanisms to aid in improving the sport in the country. The Presser had Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA) Vice President (Administration and Finance) Alex Kukula and Greater Accra Basketball Association Chairman Ayitey Bulley present.

Speaking at the event, Borsah stated, “This is actually the first of many visits in terms of assessment; this first assessment is just for the Southern Sector and hopefully he will be back in February and we will look at getting to the Northern Sector then putting it together as a country”.

Vainauskas is expected to lead a small delegation on a tour of Basketball Academies and Teams in locations in Ghana’s geographical south including Takoradi and Kumasi.

The tour and visit forms part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the GBBA and the LBF and IBU respectively.
