Mawugbe in action for Santa Cruz

Basketballghana.com can confirm Santa Cruz Warriors 2021-2022 Season has come to an end following the team’s elimination from the NBA Gatorade League (G-League). American-Ghanaian Center Selom Mawugbe plays for Santa Cruz.

The team lost 123-134 to South Bay Lakers in the first round of the Playoffs ending a five game winning streak for Santa Cruz in the process. Warriors rode the winning streak to sneak into the playoffs but fell short of a sixth win on the bounce.

After delivering a double double in the regular season final win over Austin Spurs, Mawugbe registered 19 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals in 32 minutes but shockingly didn’t register a blocked shot in the contest. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)

The 6 foot 10 athletic defender was efficient with his scoring as he converted eight of 11 two point shot attempts and scored two of four free throw attempts.

His efforts weren’t enough as Lakers Guard Mac McClung’s 27 points and 10 rebounds led South Bay to victory and progression to the next round.

All Warriors starters including Mawugbe scored in double figures.
