Nathan Mensah celebrates after scoring.

San Diego State University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Brian Dutcher has expressed happiness over Ghana Center Nathan Mensah’s decision to return to the program.

6 foot 10 inch Mensah recently withdrew his name from the 2022 NBA Draft Combine and Evaluation to play out his fifth and final year with the Aztecs. He is eligible to play a fifth season of College basketball since he was part of the 2020 season that was largely affected by the COVID 19 Pandemic.

According to Times of San Diego, Dutcher stated, We’re very happy that Nathan has decided to come back for his bonus year’ before weighing in on the areas the athletic shot blocker should focus on to further develop.

‘He’s got to play freer, is all. He’s got to take all the work he’s done and just free himself mentally, and just play. Great players just play. He’s a thinker, he’s a deep thinker. Sometimes when you play, you can’t be that deep a thinker. You have to trust yourself, trust your instincts and just go. Maybe it’s time for him to free his mind and just play’ according to San Diego Union Tribune.
