Opoku Ware in 2016

Former Opoku Ware School (OWASS) Head of Sports Charles Kofi Darkwah has called on the present members of OWASS Sports Department to maintain the good works retired personnel like him started.

He made the call in an exclusive interview with Basketballghana.com at the recently held Basketball Honours where OWASS won the High School Most Iconic Award in the Boys Division.

Veteran Educationist Darkwah played a starring role in OWASS dramatic win over Mfantsipim School at the 2016 Sprite Ball Championship to win the school’s only Sprite Ball title.

At the moment, am on retirement but I keep on encouraging them that they should keep on with the good work that we started. Training them seriously every day, they make sure that they train…so that any competition they enter they will be able to perform extremely well” he said. OWASS’ win is the first for Ashanti Region in the Boys Division; following the 2020 Championship, the Sprite Ball had to be halted due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
