KGEE (white) beat Louis in the semifinal
AMASS in action against Islamic School (green)

Kumasi Girls Senior High School is back in the final game of the Ashanti Regional qualifiers to the Sprite Ball Championship.

The team beat St. Louis Senior High School 8-7 in the final semifinal game of the day to book a spot against rival T.I. Ahamdiyya Senior High School.

St. Louis should feel hard done by after winning the first half courtesy a 6-3 lead but fell behind in the second half to lose the department and the entire game.

Coach Yaw Sarpong’s side threatened several times to pull away from KGEE’s Coach Zibo Brown with sound defensive plays and a lot of effort.

However, reigning regional champions Kumasi Girls rallied in the second half to tie the game before going on to take the lead and clinch the prestigious spot.

The team plays T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School who beat Islamic Senior High School in the first semifinal game 4-2.

T.I. Ahmadiyya are two time national champions while KGEE won silver in last year’s competition.
